Privacy notice
Who we are
AK Gas is a Gas Safe registered gas engineering business run by Akbar Khan and based in Leeds. If you have any questions about this notice or your details, email akgassafe1@gmail.com or call 07742 437796.
What we collect
When you send an enquiry through this website we receive your name, phone number, email address, the property postcode, the type of customer you are, the service you need and anything you write in the message box. If you call, text or email us, we keep what you tell us so we can deal with the job.
Why we use it
- To reply to your enquiry and give you a quote
- To arrange and carry out the work, including contacting tenants where an agent or landlord has asked us to
- To keep records of work done and certificates issued, which we need for legal, safety and insurance reasons
We rely on these reasons under UK data protection law: taking steps you have asked for before a job, carrying out the work you have booked, meeting our legal duties, and our legitimate interest in running the business properly.
Who we share it with
We never sell your details or use them for marketing lists. Enquiries sent through this website are handled by our website host, Netlify, and arrive by email through Google. These companies may store data outside the UK, with the safeguards UK data protection law requires.
How long we keep it
If an enquiry does not lead to any work, we delete it within 12 months. Job records, certificates and invoices are kept for as long as we need them for legal, insurance and accounting reasons.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies or any tracking or advertising tools.
Your rights
You can ask to see the details we hold about you, ask us to correct them, or ask us to delete them where we no longer need them. Just get in touch using the details above.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your details, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
